Join us at SAAPRI for our Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative, as we strive to gather and discuss vital information about breast cancer, specifically in relation to South Asian Americans. It is concerning that South Asian Americans are underrepresented in cancer research, despite being a rapidly growing ethnic minority in the United States. Their breast cancer incidence and outcomes remain understudied (source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8544783/).

There are numerous socio-cultural factors that require further investigation to understand screening decisions among South Asian women. Join SAAPRI in its effort to improve cancer awareness among South Asian Americans by helping bridge the gap in research, health equity, and the current literature.
