Community Events

This two hour long event will be a large community service collaboration between three clubs – Chinese Student Association, APAMSA, and China Care – who all have committees relating to service opportunities within the Asian community in St. Louis and beyond. We will be making items such as photo frames, scent pouches, fans, health kits, bracelet making kits, and everything we make will be donated to the partner organizations of each of the three clubs. For APAMSA, we will have students assemble health kits at our station. These health kits will be donated to Health Protection and Education Services (HPES), a non-profit dedicated to providing health education and free health screening services to the AAPI community in St. Louis. HPES sees hundreds of patients each month and has greatly appreciated our donations in the past, so we hope to continue strengthening our long term partnership through providing additional health kits to the community. Additionally, by leveraging the collective reach of all three clubs, we hope to engage many new students, spark meaningful conversations, and educate them about HPES. Ultimately, we will support APAMSA’s mission by spreading health awareness to a large number of students, all while helping bridge health disparities within the AAPI population in St. Louis.
