This event will introduce our community project to AAASA, who partners with many ethnic groups around San Antonio for various things. As we have worked with AAASA in the past, we will re-introduce our project to the organization and provide appropriate updates regarding our project. This event will serve individuals from AAHPI and other marginalized communities by strengthening an already-established longitudinal partnership who will help connect us to these communities who seek resources regarding management and prevention of Hepatitis B. One new approach in our project is to identify the specific risk factors for Hepatitis B that are prominent among Asian Americans of South Texas, which has yet to be studied before. With this meeting, we hope to update AAASA on our findings and promote this awareness among the community through AAASA’s strong outreach. This aligns with APAMSA”s mission and values of engaging with the health issues prominent among the marginalized community and developing our project according to their needs. I hope that with these fundings, we are able to further and inform our project to better characterize the Asian Americans of South Texas’s experiences with Hepatitis B.
