Community Events

For this event, we would look to represent ICOM’s APAMSA chapter and set up an informational booth at the Idaho Chinese Association’s annual Lunar New Year celebration. As part of our booth, we will be displaying information and speaking with local community members about the significance of Hepatitis B screening and mental health awareness, especially within the AANHPI community. Additionally, we will provide resources and screening checklists for attendees to take home. In order to further engage with attendees, we would also intend to set up a “”spin the wheel”” trivia activity as a way to interact with people about the information we are presenting.

We believe that participating in this event will allow our chapter to connect and learn, while also providing information about important health challenges within our local AANHPI community. Additionally, as osteopathic student doctors, we would like to further emphasize the importance of preventative medicine and improving the wellbeing and health of underserved populations.
