MayFest: Kalusugan para sa Kapayapaan ng Sambayanan’ (Health for a Peaceful Community

| $500.00Aims to promote self-care and overall well-being by addressing mental health and integrating physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual wellness into community life. The first event is a full-day session at the City of Glendale Civic Center, featuring light exercise, interactive games, and culturally-themed dance sessions that promote physical fitness and stimulate the release of mood-enhancing endorphins and serotonin. The second event is a half-day program at the City of Carson Adult Day Health Care Center, offering educational sessions on various topics such as aging with dignity, substance misuse prevention, nutritional wellness, dental health, self-esteem enhancement, resilience building, climate change awareness, LGBTQ+ inclusivity, and research literacy. This collaborative effort between the Philippine Nurses Association of Southern California (PNASC) and the Filipino American Service Group, Inc. (FASGI) seeks to empower the Filipino-American community. Through May Fest, the organizers aim to be a cornerstone of health education and wellness promotion, catering to diverse community needs. These events will help positively impact the mental well-being of the participants and foster a healthier, more connected community.
