Community Events

The Annual OCO Club Mochitsuki event at Tanaka Farms is a cherished Japanese cultural tradition celebrating the New Year with the time-honored art of mochi-making. Scheduled for Sunday, December 29, this family-friendly event begins with a Pound Off Challenge for invited teams from 7:00 to 9:00 am. From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (or until supplies run out), the festivities open to the public, inviting everyone to participate in pounding and shaping mochi rice cakes. This hands-on experience brings the community together to honor heritage and share in the joy of crafting these delicious traditional treats for the New Year. APIDC was invited to participate in the Pound Off Challenge.
