This event has been and will be held at the St John Vianney Catholic Church in Louisville, a religious establishment and community that has served almost exclusively Vietnamese populations on the “South Side” of Louisville. This region is known to experience higher poverty rates and significant health and economic disparities compared to wealthier areas like the East End, with data showing lower incomes, higher chronic disease, and lower educational attainment. Furthermore, Vietnamese individuals in this area face language and transportation barriers (most medical facilities are in a different region of the city) that prevent them from receiving proper care.
