The second event is a half-day program at the City of Carson Adult Day Health Care Center\, offering educational sessions on various topics such as aging with dignity\, substance misuse prevention\, nutritional wellness\, dental health\, self-esteem enhancement\, resilience building\, climate change awareness\, LGBTQ+ inclusivity\, and research literacy. This collaborative effort between the Philippine Nurses Association of Southern California (PNASC) and the Filipino American Service Group\, Inc. (FASGI) seeks to empower the Filipino-American community. Through May Fest\, the organizers aim to be a cornerstone of health education and wellness promotion\, catering to diverse community needs. These events will help positively impact the mental well-being of the participants and foster a healthier\, more connected community.

DESCRIPTION:Asian Center of SE Michigan has been collaborating with Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital every other year to offer Asian American Health Expo for the past 10 years. The 2024 Health Expo will be on Sat\, 5/4 from 10 am – 2 pm. We planned to have about 20 tables for a few health insurance Co/community organizations/vendors. They will be placed at the “Main Street” in the Hospital. Organizations should have their logo and displays and hopefully some trinkets for attendees.\n* Any health related vendors (yoga studio\, massage parlors etc) are welcome\, best with some display or short services; e.g.\, a massage chair that attendee can try on\, or a masseuse there to give attendees 5 min massage etc.\n* There will be a series of health related seminars (details are still TBD) taking place by professionals\, doctors and researchers.\n* From 11:30 am to 12:30 pm\, there will be a “Kitchen Demo”\,  to show a few healthy recipes. HF would provide their executive chef to host it.\n* Tiffany Lee (All of Us program manager at Henry Ford) will give talks on “All of Us” program\, Other topics will be health and nutrition related.

DESCRIPTION:Our APAMSA chapter is collaborating with Fountain of Life\, the Korean American Society\, and the Vietnamese American Community to host an Asian American Health & Wellness Fair in the Johnson County\, Kansas community. This event aims to serve individuals from the Asian American\, Native Hawaiian\, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities\, as well as other marginalized groups. \nAt the health fair\, attendees will have access to various screenings\, including blood pressure\, lipid panel\, glucose\, mental health\, and skin cancer screenings. In addition\, we will provide informational tabling by organizations such as the Johnson County Aging & Human Service Department\, Johnson County Mental Health Center\, Johnson County Department of Health & Environment\, and Sunflower Health Plan. We will also have translators available to assist with communication between attendees and healthcare providers. \nThe goal of this event is to offer essential healthcare services and resources to the diverse population of Johnson County\, particularly individuals who may face barriers to accessing healthcare or communicating with the healthcare system. By providing screenings and connecting attendees with primary care providers or specialists as needed\, we aim to promote preventive care and improve overall health outcomes in our community. \nThis event aligns with the mission and values of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) by advocating for health equity\, providing culturally competent care\, and fostering collaboration among community organizations.
