Balancing traditional family roles with modern healthcare demands is difficult\, and many caregivers feel isolated. Raising awareness about dementia\, providing culturally relevant resources\, and supporting caregivers with education and healthcare access can improve care for both elderly individuals and their families.

Hosted by SAAPRI in collaboration with Association of Indian Pharmacists in America (AIPhA)\, the webinar will explore neurodivergence\, specifically discussing Autism\, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD)\,  from multiple angles\, including societal\, cultural\, and healthcare perspectives. \nThe 75-90 minute session will feature:\n– Short presentations on each topic.\n– Moderated Q&A sessions with speakers sharing lived experiences and professional insights.\n– A concluding audience discussion for broader engagement. \nAttendees will gain valuable knowledge\, hear impactful stories\, and receive a resource guide to further their understanding of neurodivergence. \nUnderstanding neurodivergence is vital to advancing precision medicine\, as it highlights the importance of inclusivity in research to account for diverse neurological and cognitive profiles. The NIH’s All of Us Research Program is committed to building a database that reflects these diversities\, ultimately fostering equitable health outcomes for all communities\, including neurodivergent individuals.

SUMMARY:South Asian American Community Health Forum: Diabetes panel
DESCRIPTION:Join our Facebook Live discussion on Diabetes within the South Asian American community and the challenges members face – in conversation with the Network of National Libraries of Medicine’s diabetes documentary\, “Curing Diabetes: the Human Trial”\, available free via the access code on our flyer. Our discussion will also feature two experts in the field\, Dr. Manasi Jayaprakash and Dr. Atif Hassan. \nSouth Asian Americans have one of the highest diabetes prevalence rates of any demographic group in the United States\, second only to Native Americans (Yaghootkar et al.\, 2020). South Asia alone is projected to have the greatest burden of diabetes globally by 2030 (Shaw et al\, 2010). However\, traditional risk factors for type II diabetes do not explain these trends\, and diabetes in South Asian Americans in Illinois compared to those observed in the literature is still relatively understudied. Everything we know points to the fact that we need more research and advocacy for diabetes in our community.
