SUMMARY:APAMSA x China Care Service Crafts
DESCRIPTION:Our event is a service collaboration between APAMSA and China Care\, dedicated to serving marginalized communities in St. Louis. During the event\, WashU students will be assembling items that will be donated to partner organizations of APAMSA and China Care. For APAMSA’s service activities\, students will assemble health kits that include toothbrushes and personal care items\, as well as create scarves from fleece fabric. All of these items will be donated in person to Health Protection and Education Services (HPES) and Achilles International. HPES is a nonprofit organization that provides free health education and health screenings to AANHPI communities in underserved areas of St. Louis\, while Achilles International is a global nonprofit that empowers people with disabilities through weekly inclusive athletic programs. Through these donations\, the event will not only strengthen our ongoing partnerships with HPES and Achilles International but also contribute to advancing both health equity and AANHPI community wellness in St. Louis. In addition\, by collaborating with China Care\, we hope to encourage meaningful discussion around AANHPI health disparities and the importance of community service. Our event clearly aligns with APAMSA’s mission by promoting service and advocacy to address healthcare challenges faced by the AANHPI community.
