Community Events

AsiaFest is an annual festival bringing together the AANHPI community in the Research Triangle Area of North Carolina. It attracts over 10,000 visitors annually and is not only a cultural festive event but also an opportunity to outreach to the community. Our APAMSA chapter volunteers at this event annually to provide health screenings and education counseling for high blood pressure and diabetes to the AANHPI community. This is an integral service that allows us to ensure community members, especially with those who may have the least access to primary care (e.g. non-English speaking elders, income restricted, etc.) to obtain these services and speak with licensed physicians about their health status.
